KAMAZ AND SITRONICS GROUP TO DEVELOP E-TRANSPORT AND CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE IN ROSTOV OBLAST
14 October 2022
KAMAZ PTC, the Government of Rostov Oblast and Sitronics Group signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of city eco-friendly electric transport and charging infrastructure.
The document was signed by Samat Sattarov, Director of Passenger Transport of KAMAZ PTC, Vladimir Okunev, Deputy Governor – Minister of Transport of Rostov Oblast, and Karim Kuzakhmetov, Vice-President for Regional Development of Sitronics Group.
“Introduction of electric buses and expansion of the charging infrastructure network is a part of the federal program of comprehensive development of the city electric public transport implemented in accordance with the RF President’s instruction. For the first time in the latest history of Russia, the state solves as a whole the problem of city transport renovation in the regions. Rostov Oblast is one of the first ten regions to renovate their electric transport,” underlined Vladimir Okunev.
At the end of October, KAMAZ and Sitronics Group are to organize testing of a KAMAZ-6282 electric bus and an ultra-fast charging station operated by Sitronics Electro (part of Sitronics Group) in Rostov-on-Don.
“KAMAZ is steadily focusing on the development of eco-friendly transport means for Russian regions. For the fifth year in a row, the capital of Russia has successfully been operating innovative passenger vehicles. There are 772 KAMAZ-6282 electric buses running on the routes of Moscow. To date, KAMAZ is a top supplier of high-tech electric buses in Russia. Efficient is not only the product itself, but also the service model under the life cycle contract. The electric buses show a high availability rate – 0.99. We are satisfied with the fact that, having passed tests of time and Russia’s largest megalopolis, our high-tech product built according to the customer’s most difficult requirement specification will operate in Rostov Oblast too,” stressed Samat Sattarov.
For trouble-free service of passengers, ultra-fast charging stations ensuring quick battery recharging are needed. The Sitronics Electro equipment charges an electric bus at the destinations or in the park for 10-20 minutes. The driver only has to get to the station and plug with the pantograph into the charger not getting out of the cab.
“I’m sure, Sitronics Group’s experience in the construction of Moscow’s large electric bus fleets and the implementation of projects to create charging infrastructure for personal and public transport in various regions of the country will help Rostov Oblast achieve desired goals,” said Karim Kuzakhmetov.
This is not the first joint project of KAMAZ PTC and Sitronics Group. In 2022, the companies participated in testing an electric bus and a charging station in Sochi and Volgograd.
