															SERGEY KOGOGIN IS 65


16 November 2022 Today, on November 16, General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin is celebrating his 65th birthday. Sergey Kogogin was born in Bolshie Klyuchi village, Zelenodolsk Region, the Republic of Tatarstan (RT), on November 16, 1957. He started his labour activity as a milling machine operator at Kazan Engine Plant in 1976. In 1977, he graduated from Kazan Aircraft Technical School and got into the physics department of Kazan State University from which he graduated with a degree in radio physics and electronics in 1982. After he had received the degree, he worked as an engineer at the Era enterprise. He worked his way from an engineer to a director at Zelenodolsk Engineering Plant. After that, there was a period of his active work at the Administration of Zelenodolsk Region. From 1999 to 2002, Sergey Kogogin held the post of Deputy Prime-Minister – Minister of Economy and Industry of the RT. Since June 1999, Sergey Kogogin has been a member of KAMAZ OJSC’s Board of Directors. In the spring of 2002, he was suggested heading Kama auto plant whose position was extremely weak at that moment. On April 26, 2002, Sergey Kogogin was appointed General Director of KAMAZ OJSC. With the new top manager, KAMAZ, now the world-famous brand, entered upon a new phase in its history. Under Sergey Kogogin’s leadership, the company made rapid progress, and now it ranks among the largest truck producers in the CIS and the whole world. KAMAZ is a top developer and maker of smart self-driving vehicles, passenger EVs, and other present-day vehicles in demand in Russia.
